Forney flame detection probe IDD-II

Usually used to sense flames of heavy fuel and coal. IDD-IU (unfiltered) flame detectors are commonly used to detect light fuel flames. The ID-IL (lignite) flame detector is specifically designed to sense the low flame frequency generated by lignite and high ash coal flames.

The IDD-II series is used in conjunction with Foni’s support amplifier IDD-9000. (DR-6101E, RM-IDD, and ID-IIA are now outdated and replaced by IDD9000 amplifiers).

When a flame is detected, the solid-state circuit of IDD-II amplifies the continuously changing voltage signal emitted by the lead sulfide sensor. The signal is sent to the amplifier through a four core cable. The amplifier processes signals and provides outputs to the burner management system. For fault free operation, the detector electronic equipment is packaged in a cast steel casing. In addition, the amplifier also initiates regular electronic self checks of sensors and printed circuit boards to verify the correct operation of the detector components.
